I love that this lamp is similar to the Arco floor lamp but on a smaller scale so it fits in smaller rooms (and it is much more affordable). The marble base seems sturdy enough. The lamps is HEAVY and you definitely need two people to assemble it with ease. The cord is very long which allows for flexibility in placement in a room. I am very pleased with this lamp from Euro Style Lighting.
