This handsome wall sconce features a flat forged iron wall plate in an antique finish. Cylindrical, clear glass covers the bulb and its brilliant brushed steel candle. From the Murray Feiss Ethan Collection.
After a months long search for new lights for my half bathroom, I finally landed on a pair of these Murray Feiss sconces and I could not be happier. They were packaged well and very easy to assemble. My dad installed them for me. He is a very accomplished do-it-yourselfer and had no trouble with installation. The bracket that the light attaches to has a multitude of openings to choose from which makes getting the perfect placement much easier than it would be otherwise. These lights are modern and masculine, and a nod to the past with their candelabra style. At 17" tall they are of a substantial size and really make a statement. The color is called "antique black" and is essentially a very dark gray and has a slightly textured surface. I have a solid black framed mirror in between the lights and in my opinion it does not clash, so the color is not limiting. Specs call for a maximum of 60 watt bulbs. I found 60 watts to be a little jarring (especially for a small room) so I switched them out for 40 watt bulbs which is perfect. I have gotten many compliments on these lights.
When New Yorker Rose Feiss began sewing lampshades in her spare time during WWII, she couldn’t have known it would result in one of the most prestigious brand names in home décor. Today, lighting styles have changed, and Murray Feiss has answered with a line of beautifully modern, European inspired designs. Your home deserves the impeccable craftsmanship and cutting-edge design that are hallmarks of the Murray Feiss name.
