With the holiday season coming to a close it’s time to take the Christmas cards and heaps of greenery down. Are you looking around your home at the blank spaces where the Christmas tree once stood or the greenery once laid? . . . Well, it’s time to get your home looking refreshed with new modern accessories that will make your home feel spruced up. Although it might feel a little toned down from all of those holiday decorations, I think staying with a neutral color scheme is important because it makes for an easy transition now. In the Spring you’ll want to layer on the bright bold colors.
Here are a few of my favorite accessories that will have your home feeling jazzed up for the rest of the Winter.
Jamie Young Leather Strap 19" High Round Wall Mirror
Are you looking at that empty space on your wall and longing for something to fill it? I have lots of little spaces like that in my home (especially where my tree once stood). Contemporary mirrors are a great addition and this Jamie Young round mirror would work well in any space. The leather cowhide frame makes for a wonderful detail that sets this mirror apart from a normal silver frame.
Round Silver Sunburst on Stand
All right, you might think I’m a bit crazy – I promise I’m not. For those of you who don’t use your fireplaces or don’t have a working fireplace this is the item that will make your empty space look unique. I’ve used similar sunburst objects in client’s homes and they look fabulous.
Nambe Crystal 6" Wide Butterfly Bowl
In my eyes crystal bowls can be used two ways – as art work and for serving. Which means this beautiful Nambe bowl could be used to store your Winter accessories on a mantel or coffee table.
Brighton Iron and Leather Wine Holder
Do you have leftover wine lying around from hosting parties? A small wine rack next to your bar for those bottles of Pinot Noir or Sauvignon Blanc will remind you to grab one as you walk out the door to a party or open a bottle after a long day at the office.
Braided And Lattice Design Matte White Small Diana Vase
Last but not least, vases are one of my favorite accessories to decorate with – I use them empty or with a beautiful arrangement. This stunning ceramic with lattice texture would be perfect for a coffee table or console.
Now that you’ve seen a few of my favorites, do you have any post holiday accessories you’re decorating with right now?

+You've got to see this museum shaped like a tub. It's actually attached to the older building next to it and the contrast is amazing (the interior is even cooler)!
+For those of you starting the new year off with healthy intentions, Refinery 29 provides a great list of the best L.A. juice bars.
+Have you seen The Hobbit yet? Well, chances are you don't like it as much as Maddie Chambers who built a hobbit dollhouse!
+If you're in the mood for some great photography and you can't make it to NY for the Ann Hamilton 'The Event of a Thread', then head over to Whimsey + Spice, where Jenna Park shares her photos of the art installation.
+In other news, there's a giant rubber ducky drifting through Syndney's Darling Harbour.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. This is the most modern dollhouse we've ever seen too!
Designer Elaine Shaw from South-East London, made this modern dollhouse by hand. Just a tenth of the size of a real home, the intricate three-story model features a mini iMac, X-BOX, flat screen TV and Art Deco paintings. No doubt, these dolls live the good life.
Besides the attention to cool modern furniture, which you don't normally find in a dollhouse, the details are amazing!... Like the beverage on the side table, near the gray chair (below).
Want that modern dollhouse dining room in your own home? We can help....
Electric Kool Round Wall Clock, Brushed Steel and Wood Arc Floor Lamp, Block Crystal Glass Candle Holders, Maxmesh White and Chrome Low Back Desk Chair, Zuo Silver Leatherette and Glass Dining Table
We might have to take a break from blogging and pick up a modern dollhouse hobby.... Just kidding!

Halloween pumpkin carving is usually about the orange and black, but this year let's make Halloween a little more stylish... and modern of course. Let's make it all about black, white and some bits of gold!
If you don't want to deal with the ooo-ey goo-ey mess of pumpkin guts, painting pumpkins is a great way to go! Create modern Halloween decor by styling your house with a monochromatic collection of either black or white pumpkins. Clusters of black and white modern outdoor chairs would be great on the front porch, making the cool pumpkins company!
SET OF 4 ZUO ANIME BLACK DINING CHAIRS
Or, let the artist in you shine and go with gorgeous modern patterns, such as having black paint drip over a white pumpkion or the modern herringbone pattern. If you're looking for some inspiration for patterns, take a look at these images of modern gothic architecture (below).
The shapes and patterns found in Modern Gothic Architecture are sure to inspire some stylish Halloween decor! The gorgeous shapes found in the ceiling in the first image are breathtaking.
The silhouette of the Doimo in Milan (image 2) is quite eery against the dark cloudy sky. The negative and positive space in this photo is more than stunning and would be a striking work of art on your handpainted pumpkin! Inspiration from stained glass (image 3) is another great form of inspiration! This stained glass in Wim Delvoye's window is actually made out of x-rays. little creepy right?
Hope you're enjoying this fun holiday season! Make sure to make it stylish... and modern!

It's that time of year again where keeping cozy inside your modern home office seems like a better idea than going anywhere else to work (if you have the option).

Finding a cozy chair to sink into (but not too far) is key! And just because you want something comfortable doesn't mean you have to compromise on aesthetic. There are so many stylish, modern office chairs to choose from these days.
Here are some of our top picks (below) for your crisp white modern office...
1)ZUO REGAL WHITE OFFICE CHAIR 2)ZUO PERFORMANCE COLLECTION WHITE OFFICE CHAIR 3)WHITE LEATHER HIGH BACK SWIVEL OFFICE CHAIR 4)ZUO SCOUT WHITE ARMLESS OFFICE CHAIR
