There's lots of different ways you can use fountains to enhance your backyard.
Today might be the first day of Fall, but that doesn't mean you should write off your outdoor design too quickly, especially if you live in Southern California! Outdoor fountains are a great way to enhance your backyard year-round.
Also, there's lots of cool ways you can use modern outdoor fountains, besides flowing water. We love this succulent idea above!

Modern outdoor design is important year-round.
If you're somewhere in a warmer climate, like Southern California, then we suggest succulents for adorning the water flowing fountain and modern outdoor furniture nearby.
Tiered outdoor fountains are also an option if you want to give your outdoor space a style upgrade. Their height and multiple levels of water flow create a wonderfully zen environment.

Now that Fall is here, I can't wait to darken up my decor a little. One of the most fun, and easiest, ways to do this is by painting a wall. Don't worry, if you don't like it just paint it back.
Everything pops in front of a dark wall, especially unique lighting.

You don't have to have a sparkly crystal chandelier to make your lighting pop, even rich metals like brass look great against dark walls and modern furnishings.

For a complete departure from what I've been mentioning, try an orbit style chandelier. The glass balls will look great against a dark wall.

Using mirrors as art, "New York Light" will be on view at the foot of the Flatiron Building.
As anyone who's been following home trends over the last year can attest, mirrors are all the rage. Any combination of stylish modern wall mirrors and well-placed unique lighting can work wonders when you're brightening and broadening a space.
But a new public art installation coming to the historic Flatiron building by inventive Brooklyn design firm Inaba promises to take mirrors to a whole new level.
Renderings of the Art Installation reveal a collection of mirrors and LED lights.
Using LED lights and mirrors, "New York Light" effectively does for the city what mirrors and mirrored furnishings do in your own home, reflecting and drawing attention to the things you want to see and obscuring the things you don't.
While it's hardly as high-concept, the simple repetition of mirrored surfaces at home can have a dazzling, even playful, effect...And luckily there are plenty of options available:
Juxtaposed Angles Collection Mirror Console Table, Merritt Decorative Wall Mirror, Contemporary Round Frameless Mirror, Criss Cross Contemporary Mirrored Accent Chest
While exact dates haven't been announced yet, the installation is expected to be on view from Thanksgiving through Christmas. For the time being, we'll just have to enjoy the project renderings above.

Track lighting belongs anywhere, even a modern style living room.
Home design should always be fun, but most importantly it should create a functional space to live in. When it comes to efficient design, lighting is at the top of the list. And when it comes to lighting efficiency, track lighting is at the very top.
It may not be the first thing you consider for the living room, but if you take a look at this space above, you'll see that modern track lighting makes a great contribution to the clean, modern aesthetic.

One of the rooms where you'll need the most space saving and lighting efficiency is the home office. Track lighting is perfect for helping you see what you're working on, while still maintaining a minimal aesthetic in the space design.
However, don't underestimate the addition of a nice table lamp or two for the desk top.

The kitchen is the most common place to consider track lighting, but make sure you look at all the options out there. You might want something different than you have in your office.
There are track lights that resemble pendant lights, like the example above, which are perfect for a stylishly modern kitchen island.
You can apply track lighting to any type of room.
There's honestly no limits to where you can use track lighting. It works for pantries, art studios and closets too!
