Now that warmer weather has finally arrived, so has the ritual of spending hours upon hours outside. In fact, families today don’t just go outdoors to play, they create stylish outdoor living.
I love the concept of outdoor living (especially since its only 3 three short months for me). Things like eating meals, cozying up on a couch with a good book and even watching a movie outside are family favorites.
Creating a space to have these memorable and relaxing outdoor moments is fun. I love the bohemian look pictured above. There is cozy seating for adults which blends naturally and beautifully with the tepee for kids to hide out in (talk about fun).
If you are looking to create some ambiance or spruce up your outdoor dining space why not add modern lighting? You can always use outdoor lights but using lights intended for inside adds an unexpected element and makes the space all the more special.
Don’t forget to add seating for the little ones. Although there are many options for great outdoor furniture these days, using regular play chairs (pictured above) is charming. Little ones love anything that comes in their size.
So grab a few things from inside to take outside, add some lighting and cozy seating, get the grill going and have a happy and stylish summer!

A trend that I’ve been seeing on Pinterest lately is splashes of yellow used in modern kitchens. I’m loving this look for a few reasons. The first being that it creates a fresh space that is unpredictable. I also love how bright it makes a kitchen look. I’m all about sunshine filled kitchens and this is the perfect backdrop to create that.
Above we see that the owner used yellow just on the bottom cabinets. The great thing about this look is that it’s easily changeable. When you get tired of the yellow, just paint it another color.
This look is a lot more dramatic. The yellow covers the entire wall which creates a more concrete decision. I love how the yellow looks next to the natural wood and black tones. The large white hardware on the yellow cabinets is a fun and unexpected touch.
If you are not really into painting cabinets a bright color, try adding pops of yellow in accessories. Above they have used yellow in a small vase and a small plate. It’s not over powering and allows you to use a lot of other colors, if need be.
This last look is a real wow look! Even when paired with other primary colors, the yellow continues to pop out. As long as you mix wood tones and neutral colors with your bright poppy choices, you will never overwhelm a space. Have fun and think outside of the box!

It's easy to brighten up your bedroom with a fresh new bedside table lamp. Whether you want modern bedside table lamps or traditional table lamps, the following suggestions will help you find a light to fit your style and add the right amount of light to your space.
Remember, the lamp should be pretty enough for your private sanctuary.

Here are a few tips when purchasing a new bedside table lamps:
1. Height: The right size lamp depends on the height of your nightstand. It's said that a bedside table lamp shouldn't be taller than 30" or else your eye will get a glare from the light bulb - no one wants that when they are reading at night.
2. Positioning: Place the lamp close to the wall. That way you can place other essentials on your nightstand as well.
3. Shade Sizing: Be sure to keep the shade small - you don't want to bang your head. I recommend fabric shades in a bedroom because they are soft and add warmth to a room.
I hope that you find your ideal bedside table lamp!
