Color Crush

As much as I love color (and boy do I love it), sometimes a room needs some cooling down. And there's really no reason you can't have both. My favorite colors to neutralize or “cool off” a space is with charcoal grey. I am convinced it goes with everything and does a fantastic job of neutralizing a space that might have a little too much color (if that is even possible!). Living room image from Sweet Thing Blog.

But even if you don’t use charcoal as a neutralizer, you can use it as a great base color. With a charcoal sofa, all you need to make your room feel brand new is some new throw pillows! It’s easy and so much more affordable.

Over all, if you haven’t already tried charcoal out, please do! It can be a room saver and looks awesome too.

1. Nob Hill Charcoal Gray 31-Inch-H Zuo Armchair 2. Bardot Charcoal Chevron Set of 2 Safavieh Accent Pillows 3. Sunset Charcoal Modern Round Babette Holland Wall Mirror

This chair is not only a great shade of charcoal, bit it looks like it could fit in with most styles and aesthetics. The color makes it kind of modern, but the tufted back makes it look like something Marie Antoinette might have had. Plus it just looks super comfortable, doesn’t it?

These great ikat chevron pillows are trendy, but not over the top trendy. They could work with just about any color pallet so that makes it a little easier on you! They would even look great with other patterns! Because they are a more simple pattern, you can mix and match them to get a great eclectic feel to your space.

The mirror is awesome. It’s subtle, but it looks like it’s color-blocked. Which I absolutely love! You can’t beat the simple round design either. Very modern and sleek. Mirrors are great for making a space seem bigger than it is too. With too much of a darker color (like charcoal) a room can begin to seem smaller. This mirror will help with that!
