I don't know about on your side of the world, but here in Los Angeles, it just got HOT. And for those of us that live in older homes with lots of character but no air conditioning, it's time to think about bringing in the cool, fresh breeze into the home with modern wall and ceiling fans.
I love fans--where air conditioning can sometimes make me feel a bit off and can make a room feel stuffy, fans bring in that warm breeze, that feeling of fresh air that you get when you're on vacation somewhere fabulous. I want a modern style ceiling fan in every room of my jungalow, and here's my picks for every room:
For the living room, I can totally imagine this Matthews Bianca Directional Ceiling Fan in polished copper. Talk about fancy. I'd keep things cool in the bedroom with this Minka Aire Artemis Ceiling Fan made from maple.
For the dining area, I love this Minka Aire Wing Ceiling Fan, made of distressed koa. The natural look of it is calming and the single blade helps to keep it looking sleek and modern, and how cute would this Urbanjet Baby Blue Table Fan be sitting on the kitchen counter?
I love the idea of saving space in the small home-office with this Chrome Steel Oscillating Wall Fan. For the Baby's room, I'd go with the Craftmade Bloom Ceiling Fan with Light--it's so whimsical and I know that my daughter will love that it looks like a blossom.
If you want to find a fan like the one in the inspiration image at the top, try the Minka Aire Slipstream Ceiling Fan.
How are you going to keep your home cool and fresh this summer?
